Winter Retreat 2008

The Winter Retreat was full of fun, slush (a.k.a snow), and mold.  About the mold...let’s just say the house needed some improvement or to just be demolished.  We had a good time anyway and the pictures prove it.  The skiing was better than previous years.  You haven’t skied until you’ve tried it in the fog with 20ft. visibility.

High School Retreat

The weather turned cold just in time for the High School retreat to Bonnie Doone.  The weather was fantastic except for when we discovered the hot water heaters in the cabins were not on.  That’ll wake you up in the morning.  Exploring the plantation provided plenty of opportunity to climb trees, hike through the woods, and enjoy the scenery.  Friday night we gathered around the bonfire for s’mores and laughter.  We also spent time studying what the Bible says about purity and discussing how we can live purely.  It was an encouraging and refreshing time.

Jr. High Retreat

The Jr. High retreat to Bonnie Doone was a ton of fun.  Bonnie Doone is an old plantation in Walterboro that’s a great spot to get back to nature.  There are lots of open spaces and you can actually see the stars at night.  It was nice to get away from town for the weekend and enjoy the outdoors.  We took it easy the first night around the bonfire and Saturday was full of games and a low ropes course.  We took some time throughout the weekend to study what God’s word says about living a pure life.  The youth were challenged to live a life of purity mentally, spiritually as well as physically.
